I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in the Sun Scholars 100 Days of Play! Which means myself and 99 other bloggers put on our thinking caps and came up with fun, simple ways to play! So, after thinking long and hard I decided on A Super Simple Scavenger Hunt!
For those of you who don’t know me, I have an almost 2 year old. So I had to keep this Scavenger Hunt fairly easy: A Book, Crayon, Blocks and a Ball.
Here’s what I did:
– Made & Printed the list (Which by the way you can PRINT and CUSTOMIZE! Just click here to download into word -> scavenger hunt.)
– Made sure everything was reachable/findable..etc.
– Explained to Jo what I wanted her to do (and of course I did this in a super sweet, excited voice..haha call me crazy but that’s how I get results!)
– And off she went!
Since children like doing things right, remember to praise them when they find something on the list. And if they get stuck on an item, treat it like a game of hot and cold to help steer them back in the right direction.
The best part of the Scavenger Hunt….you can do it anywhere! If you are spending the day outside get them a few tools and let them have fun “exploring” through the yard. (Maybe a magnifying glass, pair of gloves, and a tweezer – after all everything is more fun when you use tools!)
P.S. If you decide to customize your list, do what I did. Wait until your little one takes a nap and then that way you can use nap time to assemble all your goodies!
