Last minute Valentine’s Day Tutu

Let me start with saying HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

If you are anything like me you may have slacked in purchasing a cute Valentine’s Day outfit for your little one. Below is a quick tutorial on how to whip something together so your kid is dressed and ready for dinner!

Since, it was crunch time I took the easy road and re-purposed a tutu that I had on hand. But can you blame me, 1) I was short on time, 2) how many tutu’s can one little girl have?

I decided to try a new tutu loop technique and gotta say, it was easier than knotting and the results are much fuller for an older kid.

old plain tutu

grab some red tulle (luckily I had some on hand), but as you will soon see. Only a small amount. So I cut 18″ strips until I ran out.

fold one strip in half, so that you have a loop on the outside of the waistband.

feed the end of the strip through the hole.

pull until it makes a knot.

Since I had a limited supple of the red tulle, I just made a section red. I took 2 of the strips, and tied them together to make a bow. Then just tie one of the tutu strands through the back of the bow to hold it in place.

Done! And it only took about 10 minutes.
