Holiday Decorating Home Tour

Although it’s a bit early to turn on the Christmas Music. I have started mentally prepping for the whirlwind ahead. From starting to scout out the toy deals, to looking for matching (yet not to matchy matchy) holiday outfits and my favorite part of the pre-Christmas Season…. making the Christmas Cards!

What’s your favorite thing about the pre-Christmas season?

For me, I like the Christmas Card part so much because it’s a good excuse to gather the kids and take some outside photos.  I’m not sure if it’s the brisk air, or the tranquil setting but between the “posed” shots, I catch glimpses of pure sisterly love. Plus it allows for me to come up with a cute saying and message!

But of course with all that happiness, and prepping there’s my lease favorite part of Christmas. Are you ready? Because, I have a confession…Holiday Decorating makes me crabby! (GASP!) Crazy right?! You see I’m a hoarder saver, so when I go through the decoration tub(s) I’m overwhelmed with old odds and ends that have accumulated over the years.

But this year I’ve made a change! I’m only putting up items that myself (or my immediate family) feel attached to AND I made some new (easy) new pieces!

My tree is FULL of memories! From handmade to childhood milestones, and topped with photos we have many (many) years of memories hanging from the branches and it makes decorating the tree oh so much fun!

Two of my newest pieces include an ELF quote – which was a free file from Apex printed on an 8×10. And I cut the reindeer artwork with my Silhouette machine and placed it in an over-sized frame.

My little helper took a break from decorating to drink some hot chocolate.
Now it feels Merry & Bright!

And there’s one more DIY that I am sharing on Monday so stop back and check it out, there’s a chance that it will contain a HUGE givwaway!

And just in case you want to pick up a photo decoration or print out for yourself here are the links!
