DIY: Santa Letter Mailbox

Santa Mailboxes are HOT this year!

And there was one that really stood out, it was this tiny, red box and it was $55+ (image a jaw drop emoji here). Now call me cheap but I cannot spend that kind of money on such a small decoration. So I tried to forget about it, but then their mailbox turned into an ad that followed me all over the internet! So imagine my surprise and excitement when I found a little red mailbox that I could DIY for less than $5!  Want to see how I made it? See below!

To make your own you will need:

  • Red Mailbox
  • Die Cutting Machine (I used my Silhouette)
  • Adhesive Vinyl – Oracal 651

This tutorial is super simple. Purchase your red mailbox at Oriental Trading. (And while you are there check out their Buffalo Plaid holiday decoration collection – because it is ADORABLE! I am kicking myself for not buying more pieces.)

Next, design your text and measure the mailbox and resize your font on your Silhouette Machine.

Cut. Weed. Apply.

Now have your kids write a letter to Santa.

If you need a letter template you can download this one!

Now, head over to my Facebook Page and tell me what your kids are asking for this year!
